After installing Autify Recorder, you can record your first test scenario and run it on Autify!
Creating a [Test Scenario]
1. Login to Autify on https://app.autify.com/
2. Click on the left side menu [Scenario] > [New]. New Scenario page will be displayed.
3. Click [Edit] and enter a name for the [Test Scenario]. Click [Save changes].
4. Select the window size and input the URL of the application that you want to test. Click[Start recording] and the recorder will start recording your operation!
When you click [Start Recording], a new window will open in incognito mode and recording will begin. Autify Recorder appears in the lower right corner of the screen.
Once the recording has started successfully, the red circle button in the recorder will start blinking. Let's go ahead and record the steps of the [Test Scenario] for the web application you're testing!
Click on an element in the screen or type in a form element. As you make these browser operations, they will be recorded automatically by Autify Recorder.
When you click the ☑︎ button in the Recorder, you can add assertions to the element or page. For example, you can add text assertions.
In addition to validating text against elements, you can make various types of assertions with Autify.
Saving your [Test Scenario]
When you are done recording, click the [Save] button in Recorder. Once the [Test Scenario] is successfully saved, the scenario details screen will show the recorded sequence of steps. You can see at a glance what is being done in each step, along with screenshots, so it's very intuitive!
When you are satisfied with the scenario on the Scenario details screen, press the [Run now on Chrome] button and you can run the test on Autify immediately. You will be taken to the Test results list screen, so wait for the test to finish.

Once the test has finished running, you will be able to view the Test result details screen. In addition to the success or failure of the entire test, each step is marked with a success (✔︎) or failure (❌).
If you click on the thumbnail images of the steps, you can compare the screenshots side-by-side between the time of recording and this test. You can see at a glance the difference in appearance from the previous time.
Please note that if an exact match is not found and Autify finds an alternative element, you may get a [Review required] message. For more information on [Review required], please refer to the FAQ below.
